The first instinct to some would be to end Jakes life---- "That
is going to be alot of work!" OUR first instinct says, Jake needs help & though this will require effort, Jake
has spent his life serving another, so now that Jake needs help, we are determined he is going to get it. Win or lose we will
not let Jake go out without a fight for HIM! This is why we got into pet rescue so many years ago.... This is what you call
a true rescue--- "The least of these"...... Angels are watching over this guy or he would not have ever made it
here!

WHY NOT JUST EUTHANIZE JAKE?????
"Life
is all about hope & possibilities... As a community of hope & possibilities anything is possible! You just have
to believe, as well as act. Simple acts-change life for many! If you take away the (hope), the possibilities are few."

Below is a picture of the growth on Jakes foot that desparately
needs medical treatment. This is one of the needs he has on why we are asking for assistance. So it can be removed and treated
and Jake will no longer have to walk in pain. This has obviously gone untreated for a very long time.

ALL visit's to our location to visit Jake is WELCOME!!!!
PLEASE do not hesitate to come meet this wonderful boy!

Around here LOYAL friends are treated as
if we respect what they have given to other's, Jake literally gave his life. Jake was a FRIEND and deserves to be treated
like the LOYAL friend he was---
This page is dedicated to "Jake". Jake will be having a long recovery before he can be adopted. We will
post the vet care he receives. Diary of his progress. Jake was the pet of a man who was handicapped. Then Jake was owner surrendered
to ARL of Marshalltown, Iowa. They cared about Jake getting a second chance at life, so Jake was transferred into our location.
Jake weighs in at 162#'s, severely obese. He has a hard time walking and will need surgery to have a tumor removed from
his foot. To anyone's knowledge Jake has never been seen by a vet, so this will be Jake's first real care that anyone
knows of.
If you would like to assist us in the care of Jake medically, we would appreciate ANY and ALL donations
you can make to assist us in getting Jake where he needs to be. He is so kind, so loving & so deserves to be repayed for
his loyalty and care he gave the man who surrendered him. Jake deserves a second chance, For God's sake-- he earned it!
Please help us, help Jake, by donating whatever you can personally do to help.
Diary of Jakes care
Jakes very first appointment will
be 5/16/2008. The vet will be coming to our location for a farm call to keep Jake from having to load up in a vehicle , so
he will not have to strain himself right off the bat. We will update after Jakes first vet call.

5/16/2008- The vet has now been
here and gone & an appointment in the office will be made today (will update when). Jake will need: Nails Clipped, teeth
cleaned, foot surgery, some warts removed, he has an ear infection that needs resolved & of course some weight loss. Jake
will also be neutered and completely vaccinated. Jake will also be getting a heart worm test.
5/16/2008- Jake
is will be given a medicated bath for his skin and fur to clean it thoroughly (We have purchased Hexadene medicated shampoo.
He will be beginning Otomax Ear drops.
5/22/2008- 8:30 A.M Jake will be dropped off at the vet to
begin on some of this medical he requires. *** Say a little prayer for Jake on this day. He will be put under, for a surgery
that is scheduled.***

| 5/17/08 He was also FRONTLINED |
5/18/2008- As time has been passing & Jake is
here for a little while, he is taking off the pounds. He is getting LOT'S of ecersize here with all his new playmates.
We began walking a little tiny area of a lot, because that was all Jake could handle without straining and that was VERY slow
going. In just a few days Jake has been able to extend his walks & he is definately picking up speed. We do still have
to work with him on the refrig., when the frig door opens he is fairly insistant the door will not close until he gets food!!!
The answer is no... day by day he is getting better at realizing there is nothing in there he is going to be allowed to have.
This guy just has the most laid back- most loving personality anyone could ever imagine. If anyone wants to
see what a TOTALLY kind heart looks like, they will have to meet Jake! When he looks you in the eyes it is enough to
melt even the hardest of hearts. BOY! Is this big lug gentle as anyone could ever imagine with puppies and small children.
Housebroke? VERY-VERY housebroke! Sleeps real quiet at night. Not a peep!
We have located a fatty tumor now
that his weight is coming off, but have not yet been seen by the vet, but since Jake will be going in for one of his
surgeries on the 22nd, this will be pointed out to the vet. We want everything Jake missed out on in his life to be resolved
and in top health so he can get a wonderful home and both new owners and Jake live out Jakes life in peace and healthy!
He won't be adopted until the vet gives an ALL clear. Then some VERY lucky family is going to
get the absolute most perfect dog I personally have ever seen.
5/22/2008- The time has now come for Jakes first surgery.
He will be at the vet's office by 8:30 in the morning! Will update as the vet gives me information. He will NOT
be returning to rescue on this day, he will be remaining at the clinic at minimum overnight. We'll see what the vet says.
Say a lil prayer for Jake, today is the day we load him up and he begins his surgeries!
|

Pics of Jake heading off to the vet... When we got Jake,
he could not load himself into a vehicle at all... This morning he did very well. The vet looked at the Fatty tumor and will
update on everything when we pick Jake up from the vet! At this time we are not sure what all will be done today! As
you can see Jake is trimming down and toning up nicely!

5/23/2008---Jake has now had ALL his surgeries and Heart worm check....
Jake had *2* big fatty tumors
removed, heart worm check, surgery to remove the tumor from his foot, neutered, UTD on all vaccinations, teeth cleaned, ears
cleaned and I quote: "They have done everything needed to Jake except make him 6 months old again!" Jake is now
is GREAT HEALTH and heart worm test was NEGATIVE!!!!! NO heartworms!!!!
Jake is gonna be ready for the family of
his dreams and the family who adopts him is gonna get a healthy BIG BOY!!!!!!!
I personally want to thank those who helped us help Jake.. We still have an outstanding vet bill, but that is
okay! We will get it paid off and Jake is getting the chance he deserves! SO THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HELPED!!!!!
**** HUGE**** THANK YOU TO OUR AWSOME VET & HIS WIFE!!!!!'
Thanks again guys!!!
